Datastory
This project lasted two weeks at the beginning of my second year in university. We were randomly assigned a colour, and then we looked into what that colour was associated with and with those associations, looking at data around the topic. I was given the colour black, and after a mindmap, I settled on the idea of Batman. I looked into a variety of different data about him like how his logo has changed and I wanted to make a comic book about how his logo has changed throughout the time that he’s been around. I got some feedback that it was quite surface level so I went back to researching about Batman and found out that the creators of Batman put Robin's life in the fans’ hands by making them do a poll. I was inspired by this and built a Batman story around this. I was surprised that I was able to get it all done in the 2 week time frame, I did have to shorten the comic down to 16 pages but that is still a lot of work for one person to do in 2 weeks.

Initial Comic Book Idea
I had originally wanted to make it about how the batman logo has changed through the time its been active. I was talking to some of my friends and they had suggested that as it is a comic book it should have a story. I agreed so I started story boarding.

Initial Pages Sketches
I wanted to get my idea of how the first couple of pages will look so I can properly conceptualise the project. I had these as a very standard layout as these were the first 2 pages that I had done so I hadn’t got into the swing of it properly yet.

Finished First Page
I liked how the first page turned out, I thought it looked cool and flowed well. This inspired me to get started on the rest of the pages but I kept my mind open and tried being more explorative with my framing and composition of the pages.
